With the JobKeeper Payment being approved by Parliament last Thursday and the first fortnightly pay period already finished as of the 12 April, if you are an employer you do need to be getting organised.
Please see our recent communication regarding how to register for the JobKeeper Payment. If you have not received this please contact our office or see www.curveaccountants.com.au
The ATO have published a useful article on Paying your eligible employees which we recommend you read.
As the legislation has been rushed through the various payroll software companies are now trying to catch up and update their software to report the necessary information directly to the ATO through Single Touch Payroll (STP).
In the mean time Xero have released the following guidelines of how to modify Payroll so employees can continue to be paid salaries as well as JobKeeper Payments.
If you are inclined and capable please make these changes to your payroll then keep an eye on the Xero website for subsequent updates as they roll out the completed payroll with JobKeeper features.
If you require assistance it is very important that you contact the team at Curve Accountants and let us know immediately. We won’t know if you are applying for the JobKeeper Payment unless you tell us.
